Background of Establishment
KomoLink was founded in 2024 by Sumika Osawa. After gaining experience as a caregiver in Japan, she deeply learned the importance of human connection and care. In 2016, she moved to the United States and began offering babysitting services for Japanese families in New York. Utilizing the caregiving knowledge and experience she gained in Japan, she dedicated herself to providing attentive childcare support tailored to each child.
However, in 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, shutting down much of New York City, including restaurants and other facilities. Amidst these harsh conditions, driven by a desire to give back to the city, she and her trusted friends launched a volunteer initiative that provided free meals to healthcare workers while taking strict safety precautions. This act of kindness, aimed at supporting frontline medical professionals during a time of social upheaval, was met with deep appreciation from the community.
As the pandemic subsided and economic activities resumed, the demand for babysitters surged again. It was then that she noticed many families were struggling to find trustworthy babysitters. She realized that creating a safe and reliable childcare environment required more than just a matching platform—it needed a service built on trust and quality. Thus, KomoLink was born.
In June 2024, she earned a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Stanford Medical Health.
Completing a program that included pediatric nutrition, she deepened her expertise in nutritional guidance essential for the healthy development of infants and young children.
With this knowledge, KomoLink aims to offer not only childcare but also comprehensive parenting support, including nutritional guidance for pregnant women and infants.
